Hi, I'm Pauline, the founder of Design by Code.

I created this website to encourage people to learn to code and to create designs using software code.

Processing was the tool I initially used to learn to code before moving onto p5js. I enjoyed learning to code this way as I could instantly see the output of the code and if there was no output then I knew I had done something wrong - oops!

But when the code does run and creates the design expected then you can get the exhilerating feeling of 'Yes, I did it!'

Sometimes when learning to code it doesn't all go to plan but sometimes, so long as the code runs, you can get an unexpected good designs with the 'I didn't intend to do this but I like it vibe'.

Not sure where to start, then take the finalised code, make changes and see what happens. Want to understand how the code was built? Then check out the YouTube videos where we walk through the code or a similar version of the code to show how it was all put together.

I hope you enjoy the designs on this website. It's a new website in August 2026 so more designs will follow soon!
